IMPRS Highlights in 2025

December 18, 2025

2025 was a succesful year for the IMPRS-STNS: Four of our IMPRS doctoral researchers successfully defended their theses and we could welcome 8 new members.

Regular IMPRS seminars provided a platform for doctoral researchers to present their work, exchange ideas, and receive constructive feedback and the year was enriched by a series of training courses in Python programming, scientific writing, presentation skills and nanofabrication, supporting both technical expertise and professional development.

Three major events shaped our academic year: The IMPRS Spring Meeting in April has a focus on our Principal Investigators as well as a career in science. We strengthened our international ties with a joint retreat with the Institute of Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences (FZU) in Prague in September. Together with the TRR 227, we organized the Joint Winter School Ultrafast Spin Systems and Correlated Matter in November with more than 50 participants.

We look forward to other exciting developments and events in 2026!
