German Chancellor Friedrich Merz visited the Max Planck Institute for Microstructure Physics on November 18, 2025 and met with IMPRS doctoral reserarcher Lukas Fischer.

On 18 November 2025, the German Chancellor, Friedrich Merz, visited the Max-Planck-Institut für Mikrostrukturphysik in Halle. The visit highlighted the institute’s role in advancing fundamental research in materials science and nanotechnology. During the tour, IMPRS doctoral researcher Lukas Fischer presented the ongoing research to the Chancellor and accompanying officials.
